This seasonal poem of the most classical genre in European creative culture tradition is translated by Lydia Lu Yao, graduate from Harbin University China for the chapter of "Characters" in FreshGround Poems/NieuwLandse Gedichten 2006, Fred Hoekstra the Netherlands.
Transcripture into chinese Characters is used for symbolic expression in the mentioned MTV-production and will be documented on videofilm in June 2006 at Beach nr. 3 in Qingdao:
Chinese poet-kalligrapher Gan Wang Cheng,
early one morning in June 2006 before daybreak
is performing his poetry expression on low eb
of the Yellow Sea, at the beachsand of Qingdao, Olympic city for Sailing events in 2008.
With a stick Cheng is kalligraphing his chinese Characters in the wide beachsand, while sea is at its eb, just before daybreak.
Cheng, having finished his naturepoem about love and nature in Qingdao soil, looks at his achievement with content, sees the morning sun rising from the horizon across the bay.
Turning around to the quay of Qingdao his eyes meet this girl of astonishing appearance (India Beauty) and touches him as an Early Morning Raga in contemplative mood. Taken by surprise in that his beautiful poem is more personal than he intended it to be, the chinese poet Cheng tries to save his face...... He throttles a packaged poem from his pocket, hands it over to the Beauty at the beach and disappears traversing the Boulevard of Qingdao.
In video we are left with close-ups of the young lady, Standing Beauty on a Silent Lake,
featails of her face zoomed-in...... this part in itself being a slow emotion whitness to female beauty beyond compare.....
Flashbacks of Cheng acting out his kalligraphic
performance in Qingdao's beach sand will be memorized, while the beach-scene is changing now.......... as sea comes in, waves are taking over the beach and dissolve and wipe out any intended feeling or wisdom in this poet's contribution to the Luck of the Globe.
